EGR Delete
Mobile EGR Delete & Disable
A faulty or carboned-up EGR valve causes rough idling, hesitation, black smoke, poor economy and engine management warnings. An EGR delete reprograms the ECU to disable the EGR and clear the related fault codes, resolving the symptoms without chasing repeated valve problems.
We test the EGR operation electronically first, confirm the fault, then carry out the delete and clear the DTCs with manufacturer-level tools. Every job is backed by our 100% guaranteed fix and lifetime warranty.
- Clears EGR-related warnings, rough idle and hesitation
- Ends the cycle of carbon build-up and valve faults
- DTCs cleared and operation confirmed after the work
- Software-based — no waiting on parts
- Mobile across the South East, 7 days a week
The Problem
Why EGR Valves Clog, and Why Cleaning Rarely Lasts
The EGR valve feeds exhaust gas back into the intake to lower combustion temperatures. Feeding soot into your own engine has a predictable result.
Every mile a diesel drives, the EGR route coats itself in a paste of soot and oil vapour. On motorway cars it builds slowly; on vans and school-run vehicles that never get hot enough to burn it off, it builds fast. Eventually the valve sticks — open, closed or somewhere in between — and you get the classic symptoms: lumpy idle, hesitation when you pull away, black smoke under load, and an engine management light with codes like P0401 or P0402 for insufficient or excessive flow.
The frustrating part is what happens after a repair. A cleaned valve goes back into the same soot stream that clogged it, and a new one — often £300 to £500 fitted — starts furring up on the drive home. That is why so many owners are back at the garage within a year or two, paying again for the same fault. The valve is not the problem; the design is.
One thing we are often asked for and politely decline: fitting a physical blanking plate. A blank bolted in without matching software just makes the ECU fight a valve it thinks is jammed, which brings its own fault codes and limp mode. Our EGR delete is done properly — entirely in the ECU software, so the valve is retired cleanly, the flow expectations are removed and the fault codes stay gone. If you are dealing with AdBlue trouble as well, an EGR delete is often combined with an AdBlue delete in a single visit at a reduced combined price.
Many owners pair it with a Stage 1 remap at the same time — the ECU is being written anyway, so the extra work costs less than it would on its own visit.

It reprograms the ECU to disable the EGR function and clears the associated fault codes, resolving the rough running, warnings and limp-mode triggers a failing EGR causes.
Common signs include rough or lumpy idling, hesitation under acceleration, black smoke, reduced fuel economy and an engine management light. We confirm the fault with electronic testing.
We’re a diagnostics and ECU software service — we electronically disable the EGR and clear the fault codes rather than carrying out physical mechanical replacement.
Customers commonly report smoother running once a problematic EGR is disabled and the underlying faults are cleared.
