Britain’s Motorhomes Ride On a Ducato, and So Do Its Faults
Walk around any UK motorhome show and the badge under most of the coachwork is Fiat. The Ducato is the base vehicle of choice for British converters, which means thousands of leisure vehicles share the same MultiJet diesel and the same SCR plumbing. Add the Ducato’s second life in light haulage and it becomes the van behind an enormous share of the ducato adblue warning calls we take. Motorhomes suffer for an unfair reason: they stand still. A leisure vehicle might cover two thousand miles a year with months parked between trips, and AdBlue crystallises in injectors, lines and pumps that are rarely flushed through by hard running. The owner returns in spring, turns the key and finds a fault message where a holiday should be.
Most of the Fiats we see are Ducatos — many of them motorhomes — so there is a dedicated Ducato AdBlue delete page covering vans and campers in detail.
A fiat adblue delete written to the ECU removes that failure mode entirely. The crystallised hardware stops being monitored, the messages stop, and the engine performs exactly as before. Motorhomes and campervans
Months of storage let AdBlue dry into crystals throughout the dosing circuit, so faults tend to surface at the first outing of the season. Replacement pumps and injectors on a coachbuilt vehicle can be slow to source and painful to fit, and a repair does nothing to stop the same crystallisation next winter.

Low mileage is the cause rather than the defence. AdBlue left standing in a parked Ducato slowly crystallises inside the injector, lines and pump, and a few gentle trips a year never flush it through. That is why leisure vehicles fault more readily than hard worked vans of the same age, and why the problem returns after each repair.
Yes. Everything we do is mobile, so a motorhome at a storage compound, a campsite pitch or a converter’s yard is no different to a driveway for us. We cover London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent, and all we need on arrival is access to the cab and somewhere safe to work.
The MultiJet diesels fitted with SCR, principally the 2.3 in the Ducato, the 1.6 in the Doblo and the 1.6 and 2.0 units in the Talento and Scudo. Motorhome conversions are covered exactly like the vans they are built on. If you are unsure what sits under your floor, the registration is enough for us to check.
It survives indefinitely, because the change lives in the ECU rather than in any component that can crystallise or corrode. Park the motorhome from October to Easter and it will start in spring with no warnings waiting. The lifetime software warranty means that if the file is ever overwritten by workshop equipment, we reinstall it free of charge.
