Fault codes vary by vehicle, so proper diagnostics are always recommended before replacing parts or quoting repairs.
SCR NOx catalyst efficiency below threshold — the SCR system isn’t reducing NOx emissions effectively. Often caused by a failing NOx sensor, poor AdBlue quality or a blocked injector.
Reductant system performance fault — the AdBlue delivery system isn’t working within expected parameters. Can point to a pump issue, blocked injector or crystallisation in the dosing module.
Reductant pressure too low — the AdBlue pump isn’t building enough pressure. Common causes include a weak pump, a delivery line leak or a blocked injector nozzle.
Reductant quality performance — the vehicle’s quality sensor has detected AdBlue fluid that doesn’t meet the required urea concentration. May be contaminated, old or the wrong fluid entirely.
NOx sensor circuit range/performance bank 1 — the first NOx sensor is reporting readings outside the expected range. The sensor itself is the most likely culprit, but wiring and ECU faults can also trigger this code.
NOx sensor circuit range/performance bank 2 — similar to P2200 but affecting the second NOx sensor downstream of the SCR catalyst.
NOx exceedence — SCR monitoring has detected that NOx emissions are above the acceptable limit. The SCR system may not be dosing enough AdBlue or the catalyst itself could be degraded.
Lost communication with NOx sensor A — the ECU can’t talk to the first NOx sensor. This often points to a wiring fault, corroded connector or a sensor that has completely failed electronically.
Lost communication with NOx sensor B — same communication failure but affecting the second NOx sensor. Check wiring and connectors before assuming the sensor itself is dead.
